Many members of Lombard Risk’s management team have senior backgrounds in banking and financial technology or have used risk management and regulatory software in previous roles, giving them first-hand knowledge of customer needs and desires.
These individuals’ skills and experience have been brought together to create a team that has the ability to respond to and anticipate customer requirements. This gives considerable market advantage when competing for business and delivering to plan.
The management team is made up of functional, product and geographic heads, all of whom are measured on successful delivery of financial and non-financial key performance indicators

Philip Crawford – Executive Chairman
Philip Crawford – Executive Chairman (as of May 2015), joined the Board of Lombard Risk in 2010. He has been working in the IT industry since 1983. Philip has held a number of senior positions in software, hardware and services companies including senior vice president of Oracle Corporation with membership of the executive board and Larry Ellison’s Strategy Council, President of EDS International with responsibility for all markets outside the US, Chief Executive of Bull UK and Executive Vice President and head of EMEA for i2 Technologies.
Since retiring from full time employment in 2002, Philip has concentrated on his non-executive director portfolio, and acts as a ‘business angel.’ He is currently the Chairman of Avanti Capital plc and Non-executive Director of Crimsonwing plc, as well as being chairman and investor in a small number of private companies mainly in the technology space.
Alastair Brown – Chief Executive Officer
Alastair Brown – Chief Executive Officer (as of 1 December 2015), joined Lombard Risk from Royal Bank of Scotland (‘RBS’) where he worked for 15 years in a variety of technology leadership roles in Global Banking and Markets, Chief Information Officer of International Banking and most recently Head of eChannels, Global Transaction Services. Alastair began his career in technology management at NatWest Markets.
Nigel Gurney – Chief Financial Officer
Nigel Gurney was appointed Chief Financial Officer in July 2014. He is a qualified chartered accountant with 20 years’ experience in the financial services, wholesale distribution and telecommunications industries. He was previously Chief Financial Officer at Lepe Partners LLP, a specialist independent banking company, prior to which he was Chief Financial Officer of Merchant Securities Group plc and Chief Financial Officer of W.H. Ireland Group plc.

Nick Davies – Chief Technology Officer
Nick Davies joined the Board of Lombard Risk in 2010 having joined the firm in 2008 as the group’s CTO. As CTO, Nick has global responsibility for Lombard Risk’s technical vision as well as for the delivery and quality of all software products. At Lombard Risk Nick’s achievements include leading the technical group through the achievement of ISO9001 and CMMI-D Level 3 and providing the architectural vision for the re-architecture of the COLLINE collateral management platform to provide additional business resilience and processing capacity capabilities. These architecture and design principles contributed to COLLINE winning its first Tier-1 enterprise client in early 2009, and REPORTER MIS winning its first Tier-1 enterprise client in 2010, and REFORM winning its first Tier-1 clients in 2012.
At JP Morgan he was the head of technology for three global businesses; Globeclear, Collateral Management and Global Trust. He oversaw the technical integration of the Hedge Fund acquisitions into the Alternative Investment group, and was responsible for several high profile merger projects. He was responsible for the technical teams that architected and implemented the JP Morgan CommanD product servicing OTC Derivatives.
Sue Kent – Chief Administrative Officer
Sue Kent originally joined Lombard Risk in 1992 and rejoined in 2009. Sue is Chief Administrative Officer responsible for negotiating and managing client contracts and third party documentation, sales operations and key operational aspects for the group.

Kieran Lees – Global Sales & Marketing Director
Kieran Lees joins Lombard Risk (August 2015) with a strong track record of leading significant revenue growth in a range of corporations such as Oracle, Sun Microsystems, NCR and Computacenter as well as smaller organisations. He founded his own interim management consultancy in 2008 since when he has worked for a variety of blue-chip, start-up technology and web businesses. Kieran has over 25 years of experience and joins in this newly created role to oversee and expand the global sales activities of the company.

Lisa Tan – Head of Finance
Lisa Tan joined Lombard Risk in 2007 and now leads the finance team from London who are responsible for adherence to stock exchange regulations and the administration of the firm’s accounting needs at a corporate and subsidiary level around the world.
Cliff van Tonder – Executive Vice President, Global Alliances
Cliff has held a number of senior executive positions and has extensive global experience within the banking and B2B technology sectors. He returns to Lombard Risk from SOFGEN where he had responsibility for all aspects of European operations, including central Asia and Russia. Cliff also held the position of Head of Business Development at BNP Paribas Securities Services prior to which he spent four years as Chief Operating Officer and Group Sales Director at Lombard Risk Systems, where he headed up the group’s sales efforts on trading & risk and collateral management systems and services to the financial industry globally.

Peter Francis – Global Head of Professional Services
Peter Francis first joined Lombard Risk in 2009 and has assumed responsibility for the group’s global professional services activities – implementing and configuring the Lombard Risk suite of products on customer sites- since 2013. Peter has extensive experience in professional services and consulting management in the financial services sector (specifically in the OTC derivatives and capital markets, collateral management and regulatory reporting areas) and has previously worked for Realise Capital Markets, Versif, IBM Global Business Services – Capital Markets, Scrittura/Interwoven and Intuitive Products International (IPI).
Helen Nicol joined Lombard Risk in 2006 after several years at Credit Suisse, working in the Listed Derivatives and Collateral departments. Helen has global product positioning and full P&L responsibility for COLLINE, Lombard Risk’s collateral management and clearing software product.
Helen has an Honours Degree in Law, is qualified as a solicitor from the College of Law in Guildford and a member of the London Law Society. Helen also serves as a committee member of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA).

James Phillips has responsibility for Lombard Risk’s regulatory solution strategy.
He is an industry expert on regulatory issues monitoring them on a global, regional and country/regulator basis through frequent interaction with regulatory groups and financial institutions. As a result he fully understands financial services institutions’ operational procedures relating to internal and external monitoring and reporting demands.
Robin Bridge joins from Logica and has responsibility for Lombard Risk’s regulatory compliance strategy.
Robin has more than 30 years’ experience in product development, project and programme management, the majority of which has been in the financial services sector. Prior to joining Lombard Risk he was with Logica for more than 13 years, where he was the line of business manager responsible for the company’s regulatory reporting solutions in the UK and Ireland, rFRAME.
Vincent Raniere joined Lombard Risk’s team in December 2011 after a 35+ year career in the banking industry with specific expertise in accounting, management reporting, compliance and operations. Vincent is known both as a visionary and a business leader in the banking marketplace, particularly within the realm of the regulatory reporting industry.
He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Financial Managers Society and current Board Member of the BAFT-IFSA Board of Directors (Bankers’ Association for Finance and Trade and the International Financial Services Association). As a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), he is an active member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS).
Immediately prior to joining Lombard Risk, Vincent was SOFGEN’s EVP, Global Head of Product Sales, responsible for expanding SOFGEN’s products worldwide. From 1989 until 2009, he was the President of US-based IDOM, a provider of banking automation products with specific expertise in regulatory reporting. During his direct banking career, he was SVP and Controller at UBAF Arab American Bank.

John Groetch – Managing Director, Americas
John Groetch joined Lombard Risk (May 2014) with a very wide and deep experience level in the financial services industry and has worked both in the USA and abroad during his distinguished career. Most recently he developed and executed the sales and go-to-market strategy for Markit Analytics in New York. Prior to such, he was Head of Risk Sales at Calypso USA, COO of Razor Risk Technologies, and CEO and co-founder of Treasury Management Systems, Inc. Additionally, he has held senior roles at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson leading the FX department and Deutsche Bank, Frankfurt running the FX sales team.
John Groetch holds an MBA in Concentrations Finance from the Simon School, Rochester, New York and a dual BS in Chemistry and Economics from the State University of New York.
