Oberon Business Interface (OBI) allows for effortless
interfacing with other systems. The OBI is a programmable, COM-based
API that exposes data, business analytics and events to external
applications. The OBI enables:
Seamless Integration
Integration with existing business processes is straightforward.
Trades, for example, can be automatically extracted from trade
blotters (such as Excel based blotters) and imported into Oberon.
Integration with other systems is equally seamless. Trade information
can be readily extracted from Oberon into third-party settlements,
accounting and back office systems. Both of these processes are
currently in use by existing clients.
Flexible Reporting
All business analytics are exposed in the OBI, allowing for simple,
flexible reporting. Tailor made reports can be provided quickly
and effortlessly.
Real-time monitors
The OBI propagates events from Oberon, making it easy to
develop applications that monitor, in real-time, certain aspects
of a client’s portfolio. For example, the P&L of a portfolio can
be monitored in real-time, responding to trade events and/or market
data changes.
Backwards Compatibility
The OBI provides a better solution than direct database access
as it “hides” the user from the (often complex) details of the
system’s database schema. Because each release of the OBI is backwards
compatible, users are protected from changes in the database schema.
Results Management
Oberon can export static and calculated data to a relational
database, allowing:
- Flexible analysis and reporting using
third party tools
- Analysis of historic trends in your
portfolio
